John Benjamin Hickey most recently starred in the independent feature Lilly alongside Patricia Clarkson and will soon be seen in Salem’s Lot, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. John Hickey’s film, Sublet, premiered at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. Hickey has also appeared alongside Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford in Truth. Additionally, John can be seen in Get On Up, Pitch Perfect, Flags of Our Fathers, Talullah, Hostiles, The Anniversary Party, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Barry, Taking of the Pelham 123, and Mapplethorpe.
In television, John Hickey will next be seen in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again and recently starred across Uzo Aduba in the fourth season of the critically acclaimed series In Treatment. He has additionally received an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the Showtime series The Big C. John later went on to star in the critically acclaimed WGN America series Manhattan. Other television credits include Gossip Girl, Jessica Jones, Modern Family, Hannibal, The New Normal, Sex and the City, Law & Order, and Mom. He also had a recurring role as “Neil Gross” in The Good Wife and The Good Fight.
Hickey recently closed his Broadway directorial debut at the Hudson Theatre with the revival of Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. John also previously played Henry Wilcox in the acclaimed play, The Inheritance on Broadway and the West End London, for which he won a 2020 Outer Critics Circle award and was nominated for a 2020 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play. John additionally won the 2011 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play and a Drama Desk Award for his performance in The Normal Heart.
